Zeenia expressed, "I am honored to be able to be in a leadership role that allows me to integrate my lived and professional experiences to the work of OHEA. I am passionate about supporting and uplifting community led and driven strategies and advocating for policies that center those most impacted by inequities."

Zeenia is a founding director of Naturopaths Without Borders (NWB), an adjunct faculty at the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM), and has worked for local non-profits; the Urban League of Portland, the Oregon Public Health Institute, and NARAL Pro-Choice Oregon. Her love of travel and learning keeps Zeenia seeking new opportunities to share, learn and grow while deepening her own racial justice analysis and learning new ways to dismantle and disrupt oppressive practices.

Founded in 2010, Oregon Health Equity Alliance (OHEA) is a collective effort of regional and state partners who seek to make Oregon a more equitable place for all. OHEA has established a diverse, dynamic and effective alliance centering the leadership of communities of color. Together OHEA educates, organizes and advocates for community-driven solutions to improve our health and well being.

Through this newly created leadership position, OHEA wholeheartedly believes that Zeenia's health equity and communities of color experience and passion will continue to advance its mission to achieve equity and inclusion for all Oregonians and we are excited to work collaboratively with her and community to advance OHEA's next phase of strategic growth.
