Opportunity Teams are convening beginning August 29 and again mid-September through early October! Opportunity Teams represent a cross section of systems, community, and health equity experts who will carry out the collaborative strategy development stage of the CHIP. Opportunity Teams were created to: 1) Reflect the best opportunities to move forward several CHIP priorities, 2) Build on areas where sectors voiced mutual interest, and also intersect with CHIP strategies, and 3) Build on existing partnerships between organizations and sectors already working together on strategies that have the opportunity to align with the CHIP.
The CHIP is looking for a few more community members to participate on upcoming Opportunity Team meetings, particularly teams 1 and 3 (see below). These community members will receive a stipend for their participation as accountability partners in this stage of the CHIP. Interested individuals can apply here.
Opportunity Team 1: Community Investment
Shared Goal: Leverage community benefit dollars (CCOs, hospitals, development commissions, etc.) to create a stronger investment in and reallocation of resources to culturally specific, community based organizations .
Opportunity Team 2: Pathways to a Culturally Responsive Workforce
Shared Goal: Increased pathways to a culturally responsive workforce– including CHW / THW job creation, improved culturally responsive, linguistically appropriate and trauma-informed trainings for healthcare professionals, and improved hiring and retention.
Opportunity Team 3: Community Health Equity Shared Goal: Ensuring local, community-centered initiatives embeds a health equity lens into their approaches using cross sector collaboration to address environmental racism, stress, and economic inequity.
If you have interested individuals, please have them complete this short application form.
